Winds were weak over the coast of Guangdong yesterday, and a band of clouds brought showers to southeastern China. Locally, the weather was mainly fine. It was hot in the afternoon. There were isolated showers at night. Winds are expected to remain weak over the coast of Guangdong today and tomorrow. The broad band of clouds will cover the coast of southern China gradually. There will be a few showers over the region. With the band of clouds thinning out, the weather will be generally fine over southern China midweek this week. At 11 p.m. last night, Tropical Storm Krovanh was centred about 100 kilometres southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move southeast at about 12 kilometres per hour lingering over the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands. Meanwhile, the tropical depression over the seas south of Japan was centred about 400 kilometres southeast of Kagoshima. It is forecast to move northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour across the seas south of Japan and dissipate gradually. Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Sunday, 6 Sep 2026): Mainly cloudy with a few showers. The minimum temperature will be about 27 degrees in the morning. Sunny intervals during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 31 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Light winds. Outlook: Sunny periods and one or two showers in the following few days.
