F-35s for Saudi Arabia? Why Israel and China Angles Complicate a US Sale

The F-35 is the most advanced American fighter jet available for export. It’s sold only to long-standing US military allies, given how sensitive its technology is. US President Donald Trump said last year he would approve selling Saudi Arabia the F-35. The State Department formally notified Congress on Sept. 17 of a plan to provide the Saudis 48 of them.
