Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across Mumbai, Delhi, and Rajasthan through the traditional Dahi Handi festival. In Mumbai, Govinda teams gathered across areas such as Dadar, Borivali, Jogeshwari, Ghatkopar, and Thane, forming tall human pyramids to break suspended pots despite heavy rain. Major celebrations are also being organized in Thane, where Govinda teams receive encouragement and prizes, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ participation adding significance. In Delhi, the Dahi Handi League Season 2 at Yamuna Sports Complex featured 24 teams, including 16 men’s and 8 women’s teams, competing to break the hanging pots amid loud chants of “Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki.” Rajasthan’s Banswara also witnessed thrilling celebrations, with 18 pots suspended 18–20 feet high. Meanwhile, Mumbai’s Nirbhaya Mahila Govinda Pathak showcased Nari Shakti, as 60 women trained to break a 20-foot-high handi. The celebrations highlighted devotion, courage, teamwork, women’s empowerment, and India’s vibrant cultural traditions.
