CHENNAI — The Tamil Nadu government has announced the establishment of a new arts and science college in Chennai dedicated to uplifting young women from minority communities through higher education.
In a major policy expansion, the state will also extend educational financial aid to Muslim girl students beyond Class 8, aiming to significantly reduce secondary school dropout rates across the region.
Additionally, a dedicated Most Backward Classes (MBC) Welfare Board will be established at a cost of ₹3 crore to oversee targeted socio-economic development and student welfare schemes.
