In a major international breakthrough, Telangana Police tracked and arrested Arjun Sharma, a fugitive software engineer wanted by United States authorities for the murder of fellow techie Nikitha Godishala in Maryland.

Sharma, who fled after the December 31, 2025 killing over an alleged monetary dispute, was cornered in Agra following an Interpol Red Corner Notice and a domestic cheating complaint lodged by the victim's family.

A Delhi court has cleared the legal path for Sharma's formal extradition proceedings back to the United States.
