India has officially welcomed its first dedicated single-cask Scotch curator, marking a watershed moment for the country’s burgeoning luxury spirits market.
The historic venture arrives alongside sweeping regulatory changes under the India-UK Free Trade Agreement. The landmark trade pact has slashed the longstanding 150 percent import tariff on Scotch whisky down to 75 percent.
Industry experts anticipate this dramatic tariff relief, paired with scheduled future reductions, will significantly accelerate consumer access to rare, ultra-premium spirits across domestic shelves.
