Iran Seizes US Underwater Drone in Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards captured a US uncrewed submarine near the Strait of Hormuz, according to state media reports on Tuesday. The seized vessel is identified as a Dive-LD, a large autonomous underwater vehicle manufactured by California-based defense firm Anduril. The 5.8-metre submersible is primarily designed for military missions, including seabed mapping, intelligence gathering, mine countermeasures, and critical infrastructure inspection.
