Meteorological authorities have issued a yellow warning across multiple coastal and northern districts of Odisha, forecasting a resurgence of intense rainfall and severe thunderstorms starting September 8.
Following a brief weekend lull, heavy showers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching up to 40 kmph are projected to sweep across key regions, including Puri, Cuttack, and Balasore, continuing through September 12.
Disaster management officials have urged residents in vulnerable low-lying pockets to exercise extreme caution against lightning strikes and maintain vigilance as conditions deteriorate.
