Odisha weather news this week: Very heavy rain likely from Sept 9, alert for 11 districts

Heavy rain is set to return to Odisha as thunderstorms and lightning are expected over today and on Tuesday. As per the predictions of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, very heavy rain is likely to begin from September 9. Northern and coastal Odisha regions are likely to be affected again. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for 17 districts for rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning today. The warning covers several districts across northern, coastal and western Odisha. A yellow warning has also been issued for 20 districts for tomorrow. Very Heavy Rain from September 9 As per reports, heavy rain is expected to begin again from September 9. On Wednesday, very heavy rain is likely in three northern Odisha districts, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore. A yellow alert has also been issued for 11 other districts for that day. Similarly, on September 10, very heavy rain is possible in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Cuttack. Warnings issued for September 11 and 12 A warning has been issued for 17 districts for September 11, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in these areas.
