A broad trough of low pressure is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, around 30 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places in the past couple of hours, and rainfall even exceeded 50 millimetres over parts of the New Territories West. Besides, the remnant of Saudel is bringing unsettled weather to the vicinity of Leizhou Peninsula to Hainan Island. It is expected to move towards the vicinity of the southeastern coast of Hainan Island later today and intensify into a tropical cyclone gradually. An area of low pressure over the western North Pacific to the east of the Philippines is intensifying gradually. Another tropical cyclone appears to be forming. Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight: Mainly cloudy with a few showers and squally thunderstorms. More showers in some areas. Light to moderate northerly winds. Outlook: It will be windier with swells in the next couple of days. More showers in some areas tomorrow. There will still be a few showers in the following couple of days.
