Winds were weak over the coast of Guangdong yesterday, and a band of clouds also brought showers to Guangdong. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with a few showers. There were more showers in some areas in the morning. Around 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places, and rainfall even exceeded 40 millimetres over the northeastern part of the New Territories. There were sunny intervals in the afternoon. Winds will still be weak over the coast of Guangdong today. Meanwhile, a broad band of clouds will continue to bring a few showers to the region. The band of clouds will thin out and the weather will be mainly fine over southern China in the next couple of days. At 11 p.m. last night, Tropical Storm Krovanh was centred about 360 kilometres east of Okinawa. It is forecast to move northeast at about 12 kilometres per hour across the seas east of the Ryukyu Islands. Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Monday, 7 Sep 2026): Mainly cloudy with a few showers. The minimum temperature will be about 27 degrees in the morning. Sunny intervals during the day with a maximum temperature of around 32 degrees. More showers with thunderstorms in some areas later.
