Ex-Paxton Aide Backs Rival in New Ad

David Maxwell, a former top aide who previously accused Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton of abusing his official power, has appeared in a new political advertisement endorsing Paxton’s primary rival, James Talarico. Maxwell was among several staffers whose whistle-blower allegations triggered Paxton’s historic impeachment trial. Paxton was ultimately acquitted by the state senate.
