CAG Report Exposes Major Violations in Tamil Nadu Smart City Projects

A recent CAG report revealed significant financial irregularities in Tamil Nadu’s ten thousand crore rupee Smart City projects between 2015 and 2023. Auditors found that one thousand one hundred twenty-seven crore rupees were parked in state bank accounts, generating two hundred forty crore rupees in interest. Additionally, the report highlighted unauthorized fund diversions, dropped proposals, and unapproved project locations.
