Telcos, consumer groups clash over TRAI’s 5G slicing, coverage map and service quality rules

Telecom operators and consumer groups differed sharply over TRAI’s proposed rules for 5G network slicing, coverage map accuracy and service quality benchmarks. Airtel and Jio opposed the proposed 80% network resource utilisation threshold, while consumer groups backed it. Industry bodies also flagged net neutrality concerns and implementation challenges.
