SC flags highway encroachments; asks NHAI why CCTV can't be installed at toll plazas

The Supreme Court questioned the National Highways Authority of India regarding highway encroachments and stationary vehicles. Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta suggested installing camera surveillance systems at toll plazas. The court noted that illegal parking on highways contributes significantly to road accidents. Ministries and the Tamil Nadu government were directed to file compliance affidavits. The matter was posted for further hearing on October 6.
