'Not integral to Islam': HC junks UP girl's plea for allowing hijab in school

Allahabad High Court dismissed a student's plea for wearing a headscarf with her uniform. The court found no evidence that headscarves are an essential religious practice in Islam. Photographs showed no other students, even from the same community, wore headscarves. The bench noted a lack of factual foundation to support the claim of religious necessity. Previous High Court opinions also stated headscarves are not integral to Islam.
