Ratko Mladić, the notorious former Bosnian Serb general dubbed the "Butcher of Bosnia," has died, Serbian state media reported.

Mladić led Bosnian Serb forces during the bloody 1992–1995 conflict, directing the devastating four-year siege of Sarajevo and the slaughter of over 8,000 Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica.

A United Nations tribunal sentenced him to life imprisonment in 2017 for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, sealing his legacy among history's most reviled military figures.
