BHOPAL — In a major procedural overhaul, the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has approved an amendment to the Home Department's 1977 notification.
The decision formally empowers the state's Economic Offences Wing to register and investigate financial crimes under the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Faced with over 23,000 pending complaints, authorities anticipate this legal upgrade will eliminate long-standing bureaucratic bottlenecks and expedite the filing of formal chargesheets against economic offenders.
