KATHMANDU — Devastating flash floods across Nepal have pushed the death toll past 369, triggering a massive humanitarian crisis as rescue teams race to locate at least 290 Indian nationals who remain uncontactable in isolated zones.

The disaster escalated Thursday after meteorological officials in both Nepal and China issued high-alert warnings. Two massive lakes formed by debris along the shared Himalayan border are now threatening to burst, which would unleash catastrophic secondary surges downstream.

Emergency response units are actively evacuating vulnerable river valleys, battling severed transit routes and severe weather to prevent further casualties.
